How do you use your iPad at work?

I need some advice. I will be getting my first iPad (the 4) on Saturday. I want to be able to use it as a office at home as well as entertainment. I would like to be able to replace my laptop when I am away from home and my desktop from work.

My goal is to start a doc at work, and be able to access it either on ly laptop at home or my iPad away from home, edit then sync back. Love also the note-taking ideas here.

I am looking to use QuickOffice, as iWork cant be synced to PC's (easily), either dropbox or cubby.

Anything I am missing?

Dropbox would be a good file storing solution for across different platforms

I think quick office is going to be the most compatible for Microsoft word docs

Pages uses iCloud but it doesn't always format the document correctly when opening a .doc
