How do you prevent pop-ups such as this

Go into Settings > Safari > Clear History and Website Data. This is caused by embedded cookies from rogue ads on websites. I kept getting these every few taps in different apps and sites.

I do this often for that exact same reason. Is there anything else I can do other than to get that app

I would get the app. I had that issue so I installed the app- haven’t had an issue since

Install it and run it at least once.
Then go to Settings > Safari and enable it under Content Blockers.

+1 for Crystal. I've been using since Apple first allowed ad blocking on mobile Safari.

Any opinion on Crystal vs AdBlock Plus? I’m currently using the latter. Neither are rated all that well on App Store though.

Honestly Crystal is the only one I've used on iOS. It's the first one I downloaded, and thought it performed well so I haven't tried a different one. I use it on my Samsung phones as well.

I have only tried crystal as well. Works so haven’t shopped around

I dont use an Ad Blocker and have no issues.

Make sure all your “PRIVACY & SECURITY” settings are turned on under Settings>Safari

I run both Crystal and AdBlocker simultaneously, this way if one don’t catch a pop-up the other will and I never have any issues.

I use Adblock. Not AdBlock. It works great for me. Gets most ads, even in apps. Some ads are sneaky and hard to get rid of.
