iTunes home sharing on Mac, then on your Apple TV select "computers" from the home screen then it will show/ list all the movies that you have on your Mac available to stream. Just remember both have to be logged in with the same Apple ID and iTunes has to be running either in the foreground or background.

In iTunes on your Mac, go to the iTunes Store. On the home page on the right-hand side, you'll see a Purchased link in the Quick Links section; click it and you will see all your purchases. Each movie that has not been downloaded to your iTunes library will appear with a little cloud icon in its upper right corner; click the cloud and the movie will begin downloading.
