How do I save a phone number with an extension in my contacts?
As in you dial a number...the "autoatendant" answers - you then put in the extension??
In the number in the contacts - enter a comma after the last digit in the main number - a comma will give a 2 second pause... add more commas if you need more time... - or - use a semicolon - that will give a hard pause in dialing - you tap the dial button to finish dialing the extension.
What @kch50428 says is spot on. I use this a lot in my work for dialing extensions, calling in to voicemail (with multiple prompts and digits to enter).
You can enter the pauses with the bottom left key, which is available when creating or editing a contact.
Pushing it gives a new menu. The pause option works perfect. Start with one and if you need longer, edit and add a second.
One other thought. If you're saving a number where you DON'T get an auto-attendant, I've added the extension number to the persons name (i.e. Bob Smith (x123)) so I can repeat it when the operator picks up. Not ideal but it works
