How do I revert to away camera within FaceTime?

since I upgraded to the latest iPad operating system, the icon to reverse camera has disappeared.

Without knowing what OS you upgraded from or the model of iPad, all I can suggest is making sure that you know what the icon looks like. Check if it's available in the camera app. Try restarting the phone (hold down power button) and if all else fails, re-install the latest iOS software using a computer and iTunes.
