When searching in contacts I get a super long list of other results that is annoying. I just want to see the TOP results.

Welcome to iMore, @1337ross!

Now by contact search do you mean Spotlight search where you swipe down on the home screen and expose a search bar? If so...

Go to Settings > General > Spotlight Search and turn off all the results you don't want to see when you search.

Hope that helps!

That's just how it works in contacts. The more specific the search name, the less that's shown. If you have a lot of contacts with names that begin the same, they will all show.

Thanks. But its not the spotlight search. It's actually when you are directly in iPhone contacts and you are searching on a name or number. It will show TOP name searches , then below OTHER results.
I just wondered if there was a setting to only show the TOP Matches since I never look at the OTHER.

Regardless of what service you use to sync your contacts to your iPhone the Other section is there to stay. You can't delete it because it's a feature of the search function.
For instance, I searched for contacts that had 'ha' in them and it listed all contacts with those letters in the name. In the other section below it listed all contacts with 'ha' in other fields like city, email, notes and even social media usernames.
You would have to delete all those extra entries from contacts for the Other section not to show up. And I gather that's not something you would want.
