How do I stop reveiving imessages from my son on my mac

You need to get him his own Apple ID for messaging. He should sign out of yours then create his own.

Best way is what Laelipoo said - get him his own Apple ID. If you don't want to do that, you can also go into your iphone/ipad/mac and in the messages settings, uncheck the phone numbers/emails you don't want to receive on that device.

You can share the same iTunes ID. But you all need different iCloud, iMessage and Facetime ID's.
