How do I recover my notes when it all suddenly disappeared?

On my iPhone 6 plus, I've had a lot of notes stored in notes.
Now all of a sudden everything has disappeared or been wiped clean!
How do I retrieve all my notes from my iPhone 6 plus from Notes?

Go into settings then mail contacts and calendars. Choose the account associated with the notes and make sure notes are checked off.

I just upgraded to an IPhone 6 plus. last week october 3rd thru 10th, all my notes were on my phone, I did a backup as I do weekly and I noticed yesterday October 14th that all my notes were gone, literally! I must have had 20-25 notes and they are all gone! I tried the suggestion to go into the email account and shut off the notes and that didn't bring anything back. what do I do now?

Maybe first log into your icloud.com account on the web and see if your notes are still there?

If so, then you at least know they weren't lost, and that the problem is getting your device to sync again.

But then it says ALL ( for each email acct. )NOTES WILL BE REMOVED FROM YOUR IPHONE. ???
Will they really be gone??
Nervous about that.
