I purchased a new MacBook Pro and I'm really concerned about how I move my Photos data from my old MacBook to my new MacBook.

How do I transfer the Faces and all of the metadata?

Welcome to iMore.

The best way to do it is with Migration Assistant or from a Time Machine backup. Here is a guide by Apple on how to do it. I have done it both ways and never had any issue after it is done. It will move everything over. When you are done your new Mac will be identical in every way as your old Mac. Here is a guide by Apple if your computer is too old to work with Migration Assistant, you can manually copy your data from one computer to another using these steps.

What are your thoughts on iCloud Photo Library?

Were you using Photos on your old MacBook or iPhoto?

Migration Assistant is a good step, but there may be a few other options. Let me know or send me a message and I will be happy to sync up with you and help.
