Re: how do i delete the selfies album on my phone wth IOS 9

It's an iOS 9 special feature and likely cannot be deleted. I have tried before just out of curiosity, but it didn't work. You can delete the photos in them, but that's about it. If you've tried "edit" on your Photos app, it probably still won't delete it.

The reason it was added was so that Selfies (pictures taken on the front camera) and screen shots are in a separate folder from your regular photos. It's pretty much just for convenience and to organize pictures better so they aren't cluttered.

But if i dont want them.... Then it doesn't seem like its a convenience

I don't need folders that I don't have the option of deleting: Selfies and Screenshots.

*The one thing I'd care to do is be able to move around the photos in my camera roll.

You can delete the folder by removing the contents. Your iphone is using EXIF data to tell what photos in your library have been taken with the front camera so that it can be copied to your selfie folder.

The easiest way to get around this is to erase the EXIF data attached to the photo before putting it back on your iphone. This link has more information on EXIF data as well as free online tools that erase the data for you.

Once the data is separated from the photos, ios 9 will remove them from the selfie/screenshot folders. If there are no photos in this folder then it will no longer visible.

Sorry, since I am new here I am not allowed to post links. You will want to google "remove EXIF data". Here you will find free online tools to remove the data for you.

You can download an app that does this, but it will not allow you to do it in a batch set, so it really isn't a much more convenient choice honestly.

To respond to the OP, Apple has always had native folders in the photos app that can't be deleted...I'm curious why this is bothering you so much since it's always been this way (it just has more options now)?
