Double-tap the home button... You'll see minimized versions of what's running...touch/flick off the top of the screen anything you want to stop running.

Most likely those apps are not "using your battery power". But on iOS 8, you can check what apps ARE using your battery power by going to Settings > General > Usage > Battery Usage.
