How do I change the Apple ID password?

New 5c.How to change password. I set it up with wifes email address and added a password but it said I needed a cap. letter. I used the same password using a cap. but now it is telling me yhe email address already exists. Google tells me to open Apple ID settings but I can't find it .

It sounds like you are trying to create a new I'd instead of editing or amending your existing account details

Wife email address or wife's Apple ID? If the latter or if the Apple ID is the wife's email address then you need to use the same passcode that already exist for the account.

Generally speaking, you cannot change the password for an account that is not yours. If the account already exists, as you've stated, you need to create a different Apple ID. If I misunderstood your post, and you're actually saying that you created an Apple ID and something got screwed up to where you need to change the password, but can't recall the previous password then you will have to use Apple's forgotten password feature.

The email address does not need a cap. The password does.
