How do I add an email account to my iPhone?

trying to add an email account to iphone. i can't

i haven's done the newest update. i have an iphone 5c.

when i click on settings, and then 'mail, contacts, calendars', the 'add account' spot is grayed out. i can't click on it to add an account.

any insights?

Try a hard reset. If it doesn't work its probably a software issue and a restore is advised.
