How can include a non imessage (iphone) user to a group message?

I have a friend whom traded in her Iphone for an android device, she deregistered from i-message but does not get any messages sent out on our group messages. We are all sending out blue Imessages, which she cant see. Is there anyway we can have the group chat send out sms instead of imessage so she can see what everyone is saying?

Have you tried creating a new Group Message with this person's phone number included rather than using an "old" conversation.
