How can I unlink to delete contacts?

I have a iphone 5, ver: 7.1.1, I am trying to delete a few contacts, but it says something about they are linked so I cant delete them, so I go into my contacts, unlink them but still don't let me delete they. What am I doing wrong?

Are you giving it enough time to sync? Have you tried going to Settings - Privacy - Contacts and disabling Facebook from having access to them to see if you're then able to unlink the contacts you are trying to delete?
