how can I retrieve data deleted by mackeeper that isn't even in the trash?

I installed mackeeper on my mac and lost 4 months worth of books. It's not even in the trash and I don't know how to find it or if that is even possible! Please help

Restore from backup if you have one. Otherwise, you're out of luck.
