How can I prevent my number from being used on my hubby's iPad in regard to iMessage?

How can you change mobile number on your iPad as my mobile number is appearing on hubby's iPad instead of his own cant work out why

I *assume* the both of you have signed into iMessage using the same iCloud ID. If so, sign out and then sign in with your own.

Also go to Settings, Messages then tap Send & Receive. It will show you all the addresses and numbers that the iPad can be reached on iMessage. Tap the number to uncheck it. Where it says start new conversations from again tap the number to uncheck it.
