How can I install iTunes on a second computer?

i want to install itunes on my new laptop so i can down audiobooks on my ipod when i travel. i don't know how to do this.

Download iTunes from Apple at Apple - iTunes - Everything you need to be entertained.

You need to be aware, however, that any iOS device (iPhone, iPad, iPod) can only be synched with one computer at a time. When you attempt to synch a device with a second computer, you will be prompted to erase the contents of the device so that it can be synched with the second computer.

Im sure there is a reason for this. Likely a control issue but for people who travel and the main computer they use being a desktop. This is beyond inconvenient. If I travel I have no way to back up my phone until I return since a laptop is only used for traveling. It would be nice to be able to sync to more than one PC

You could backup to iCloud. After activating this it will indicate that it will no longer backup to computer but it should do what you need it to.

Also, note that this restriction does not apply to non-iOS iPods.
