How can I get my battery out if my MacBook

So I have a late 2008 unibody MacBook and I'm trying to take off the battery to upgrade hdd and ram but the battery doesn't have the white tab to pull on. How should i get the battery out safely?

I checked it out but doesn't apply to me bc it has the white tab to pull out the battery.

So the question becomes: how is the battery secured inside the MacBook? You didn’t specify which MackBook model you have... and there were different mechanisms for securing/retaining the battery in place. Lacking the pull tab, is it possible that the battery is glued in (doubtful, but possible)? Or are there retaining clips/screws holding it in place? Have you tried GENTLY prying it up with a spudger?

Not really sure how to help or what to suggest... except to start with precisely which MacBook model is it?

Does your macbook not have the battery removal tab period? Or is it damaged and the tab is missing?
