how can i fix the storage almost full error on my ipad

I keep getting storage almost full on my ipad but i know it is not. i checked it on itunes and it is only using 29% of the 55gb but my settings on the ipad show full. I have added up the usage and it agrees with itunes. how can i fix it?

Check settings again to see exactly what's using your storage then delete some items. You might also want to reboot your device by pressing & holding the home & power buttons until the Apple logo appears.
