How can I change the phone number associated with iCloud in order to receive verification codes?

I have followed all the steps to change my phone number associated with my account, and in fact I did manage to change it. However, even though I now have my new phone registered and the older number is no longer listed on my Account Details (within iCloud), still apple sends to verification code to my older number when trying to enable my keychain. I have exhausted all available tips. Would anyone have another suggestion?

I've not ran across an issue like that before. If no one here has any ideas for you, you may have to make an appointment with the Genius Bar at your local Apple store. Hopefully someone here can help and it won't come to that.

Is it sending the verification code to the number or to the device? Seems odd that it would still be sending it to the number if you’ve removed it from your account. You could try disabling the verification and re-enabling it.
