How can I adjust a calendar event ( alert ) with a person that is already in my contacts?

I am trying to adjust a calendar event ( alert ) with a person that is already in my contacts

I am not able to change the alerts on a previously added event on my calendar when the person is in my contacts.
There is not an edit button that appears to allow me to do this--when I hit on the event and the person is in my contacts it takes me to the contacts page and does not allow me to add an alert for this event
Any ideas?

You can't open the calendar app, select the event, and hit "edit" and change anything??

Have Siri edit the event for you.
