How’s your battery day to day on the new  watch 4?

I am seeing about this same performance. This is my first AW so I have nothing to compare to.

So far I have been averaging about 75-80% battery left by 9pm, start using it around 7am. So about 14 hours.

Is this for the GPS or LTE version?

Im not seeing anywhere near this performance on the LTE version. I took my watch off the charger 2 1/2 hours ago and Im at 88%.
If its not any better tomorrow its going back and I’ll stick with my Gen 3 GPS which got me 3+ days of battery life.

Mine is GPS only and off the charger for 6.5 hours so far and at 86% including a 30 minute exercise session.

Thats what I was afraid of. I logged 38 minutes of exercise and Im at 87% now after 3 hours. So Im getting less than half of what the GPS only version gets which is what my gen 3 gets.

This LTE version is too much of a battery hog I think.

How is the coverage? I know the phones eat more battery when the signal is weaker.

The only time it went into LTE was at the gym but it was full bars when I looked. The rest of the time its been connected via my watch. I was under the impression the only time it would drain due to LTE was when it wasnt connected to my phone or wifi. It seems thats not really the case.

I wanted the LTE strictly due to exercising. I didnt want to have to carry my phone in the gym (lockers are too far for the watch to remain connected) and I liked the idea of leaving the phone home during bike rides.

I’ll see how it goes the next couple days but I was really hoping to get 2 full days and I dont see that happening with the LTE version.

I have the LTE version & my battery has turned out to be great. The first week or so was terrible but since then it has been wonderful. Right now my usage is at 1hr 19 minutes; standby 9hr 19min with 73% left. I have to say, I pretty happy with this

Seems like Im right on par with you. My usage is 1 hour 39 minutes and standby 8 hours and 54 minutes and Im at 78%.

It seems to have stopped draining so fast around the 84% mark. Definitely not as good as the GPS only but it looks like 2 days will be achievable. We’ll see over the next few days.

I think 2 days is doable. This is my first Apple Watch, so I have nothing to compare it to. It does seem like the battery gets better and better with use.

Well today was significantly better and on par with my series 3.

Typically I end the day at 11pm with 77% on the series 3 after taking it off the charger at about 7:30am. Today I took the series 4 off the charger at 8am and at 11pm Im at 78%.

If this remains consistent over the next few days I will be extremely pleased and will definitely keep the series 4.

I read somewhere that the infograph face uses more battery. Don’t know if that’s the case, but at the end of the day, I’m generally around 39%. LTE model, but not in use (yet). I track an outdoor walk for 1.5 hrs daily, and 1 hr weight training 3X/wk. Most background refresh is off, and I get news notifications several times a day. I don’t consider battery life good, but this is my first Apple Watch so really have nothing to compare it with. What say yee? Bad or good?

I'm not sure I can really compare well; while my Series 4 does not last as well as my Series 3, my Series 4 is LTE and the 3 was only GPS -- so you'd expect some extra battery use. However, as someone who uses the watch for sleep tracking, when I put the phone on the charger at night (about 2 hours before I go to bed) it is down about 35% now -- my Series 3 would be around 50%.

Considering time and software updates I hope it is better.

My Series 2 has gone whacko with 5 days of AppleCare left and a very achievable 365 days of closing the rings so I might buy a Series 4 before handing the 2 over for the repair or swap. LTE is very tempting.

My usage always has a lot of exercise time because my work is sitting at a computer. I have to make up for it with lots of small or at times big rounds of exercise to meet my move goals.

I do get a lot of calls with my work so I'd love to know a Series 4 with LTE and AirPods can handle some calls and exercise. Bike rides and commuting by bike had my 2018 at average 68 min of exercise a day if that helps judge LTE watch battery life.

Thanks for any input.

It has improved, and I will note that I sometimes go 23 hours or more between charges, since I use the watch for sleep tracking, and I typically have around 40% after that time.

I have the LTE and come the evening at 11 my watch is it about 40%. But I use it for everything, music, workouts, allsorts. So I’m amazed it even has that much at the end of the day.. I love my Watch. And here in the UK i use it for Pay all the time. With the AirPods it is amazing

Last week, I traded my 40 in for a 44 (both LTE) and still haven’t determined if the battery would last me all day. The 40 had to be put into power reserve several times. It all depends on how much I’m walking/running around the city & how late I’m out. Only time will tell!
