home button & touch id don't work after replacing battery

I replaced my battery in my iPhone 8 and now the home button doesn't work along with the touch id. There is a little crack below the home button. Any solution to this? Is it caused by the lil crack below it?

The Home Button and Touch Sensor have probably been damaged. Only Apple or their authorised repairers can repair these.

It sounds like contacting Apple Support or making an appointment at the Genius Bar would be the best thing to do.
