Hiding text on lock screen?

Is there a way to not show text messages when your phone is locked and sitting there out in the open.
Using a iPhone 6 current iOS 9.1.0
I thought there was a setting on my 4 s
But not on the 6??

In your setting go to Notifications-Messages-All the way down there is Show Previews. Turn that off.

Uncheck alerts. Check None to the left.
