Hi there.. Im quite new here.. A long time lurker..

I have a 2010 macbook pro 13inch with 2.4 dual core processors, 4gb of ram and 160gb ssd (intel 320).. Im happy with the performance.. However I wanted more portability..

So my questions is.. What do you guys think of.. Am I better to go with:

1. Sell my macbook pro and go with MBA 13.. i7 and 8gb ram but 128 ssd (around $1700 in australia)

2. Keep my macbook pro and buy an ipad mini retina 16gb? (Around $600)

Thanks for the help guys.. Appreciate it..

What do you want to do with the portability? if it's email, web surfing, some media... I'd go with the iPad....

Mostly checking mails and browsing.. But sometimes I need to do use word, excel (productivity apps).. If i sell my macbook pro i will get $550-600 max.. So for a new macbook air it will set me back ~$1000..

Ipad mini retina (cellular) around $600..

You could do all of that on the iPad with iWork and it will save you big bucks. Not to mention that iWork for iOS comes free with any new iOS device sold after September 1st, 2013.

They sell several keyboards that can toggle between your computer, iPad, and iPhone. And if you don't use an external board with your laptop, you can always just go with the official BT keyboard. It can only sync to one device but it is lightweight and compact so it works great with the iPad for that. No reason to trade down from a laptop you are perfectly happy with.

Sorry for the late reply.. And thanks for the response..

I supposed ipad mini retina would do the job really well.. Now i just need to decide if the narrow colour gamut will be okay or not..
