Hey new here i have a 3g and a 3gs i dont know if this is the right forum or not but please help . my lcd on my 3gs cracked so i tried to replace it with a 3g screen.. didnt want to plugin so i desided that its not that bad its late and i need my phone for tomorrow so ill attemt to change it another day so i put my wire number 3 back which is just speaker i belive then 2 and then 1 all sound like they clip on but now im not getting the dim and brighten thing by the top mute button. no light :/ and home button doesnt work! please if anyone knows anything i need my phone. :confused:

Well my first thought is why the hell would you take apart your iPhone. If there are ever any issues take it to Apple to get it repaired. That way it is done professionally and it won't void your warranty, which you have just done.

Oh sorry about that yes I put the phone back together and I'm using it fine just my lighting does not work. I attempted to adjust the brightness but that did not do anything and when I'm talking on the phone the sencor that makes the screen go dark when covered right next to the mute button does not work. Thanks for the help.

Right that's what I plan on doing I was wondering if there is a sensor like the home button if the screen is not attached to the main part the home button will not work I'm wondeimg which wire is the light sencor connected to I think it's #2 and if maybe there is a trick to it. Like the home button

Not many people here have experience taking the iPhone apart. I'm not sure you'll get the type of support you want here.

yeah, we tend to follow step by step guides carefully. I took apart a phone for work (needed to destroy it) and I would have trouble putting it back together if I had needed to.

any idea what website/ forum will be best for me? ive taken other iphone 3g apart without any issues and replaced a broken screen. just ive never experienced the light not working. and yes ive followed step by step guides fairly simple.
