Help updating 4.3.3 ( 04.10.01 ) to 5.0.1 jailbreaking and unlocking

so i just lost my factory unlocked iphone4

but now im looking to purchase an iphone4 off my friend which has version 4.3.3 and baseband 04.10.01 with Rogers which is already jailbroken/ not unlocked

Im with Bell Mobility, i need to know what i have to go through in order to unlock it
also what if its possible to update it to 5.0.1 and also unlock it???
because people are always talking about preserving the baseband

.. also i have the option of buying an iphone with the baseband 04.11.08
really dont know all the difference between the baseband

You should post this in the jailbreak forums where you will get more help from the jailbreak experts.

Pretty sure A4 chip devices (iP4, iPad, iPT) can all be jailbroken running 5.0.1 but I'm not sure about unlocking an iPhone 4 running that version.
