HELP Restoring Contacts from earlier backup

I clicked the sync with google contacts button in the itunes info tab and now all my numbers are gone all I have on there is my gmail email addresses. I was wondering how or if I could recover them. I tried restoring from backup but the only option was to restore from most recent backup which only had my google contacts. Thanks for any help these are all my contacts from from previous iphones almost 2 years worth now.
