Help needed to unlock iphone 4

Hi
I have an iphone 4 which i got around 4 years ago when it came out. I bought it from UK and it had tmobile network. It was jailbreak unlocked and so it has remained on iOS version 4.0.1 these past 4 years. But now I need to upgrade it, so since it has been 4 years has the lock been lifted? Can I easily upgrade it or do i need to go through some process? Any help is appreciated. thanks

Yes I think i did, but I wasnt registered at the moment and so I didnt know if it would count or not. So I thought to make a new thread after registering myself.
