Hi, I'm a happy owner of a new macbook pro 13" retina.(I'm loving this machine).

The problem is:

when I plug the USB (original cable) to the left USB port, the iPhone (5S) battery charges perfectly, but when I plug it to the right side USB port, it keeps connecting and disconnecting (with that charing sound repeatedly "plum plum plum plum plum") ...

Any help? This is very annoying. And I'm worried because the computer is brand new.

If it is brand new, then there could be a problem with the port. I would suggest since it is new and hopefully under warranty, to take it into Apple to have it looked at. If you do bring your cable and phone so you can reproduce it foe the Apple Genius. You can also check to see if there is not any dirt in the port.

Well, that sucks. I emailed apple pro, and asked apple support to call me tomorrow too, let's see what they say.
And I'm waiting to see if someone here have or had this problem too.

If I knew that they'll give me a new computer, I don't mind.
My problem is imagine that they'll open the computer to fix the problem. This computer hasn't 1 month yet.

Don't worry, Apple will do a good job. You won't even know it was opened. I had a bad iMac one time and was in for service 5 times before they replaced it. And I could never tell it had been opened. I wouldn't count on a replacement if it is only a usb repair. That is actually a very simple repair for them. Apple are very good at standing behind their devices, that why you pay a premium price for them. Good luck and I hope it all works out for you!

I found something and I think it helped!
google dthe problem and found this link: Mac USB Ports Stopped Working? It?s Likely Easy to Fix | OSXDaily
You don't need to open it. What I did was "the NVRAM Reset"
All I did: restart the Mac, and immediately hold down Command + OPTION / ALT + P + R keys together.
The phone is plugged and charging fine(10minutes. It didn't charged 1 minute before this) ! I'm so happy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hope this helps others... :)
I'll update this topic if something changes! ;)
