So I bought a new iPad Pro 10.5" today to potentially replace my 1st gen 12.9" iPad Pro. I have my 12.9" on 10.3.3 Public Beta 6, and its latest backup in iCloud. When I open the new 10.5" out of the box, it is on 10.3.2...so it won't restore my 10.3.3 iCloud backup. So I figured I'd just download the 10.3.3 Public Beta to my new iPad...problem is when you go to the Beta site, it only offers you iOS 11 Public Beta...which would also be incompatible. Any thoughts? Do I have to get the 12.9 on 11, back up, then upgrade the 10.5" to 11, then restore? Hopefully there is a better way. Any help is appreciated!!!

Why would iOS 11 be incompatible with your new iPad Pro? If you install the public beta profile on the new iPad Pro, it should allow you to install iOS 11 Public Beta. After that, you should be able to restore the backup you made with iOS 10.3.3.

11 isn't incompatible with the iPad Pro, but I thought that 10.3.3 backup wouldn't be able to be restored from anything but 10.3.3.

I called Apple - they told me that I either needed to get both devices on 11, backup, then restore...or find an older backup that preceded Public Beta (that didn't make sense). So I just got both on 11, restored, and all is good and syncing. Wasn't sure I wanted to go to 11...but here I am now! Pretty awesome so far (until something breaks).

Just remember with iOS , you can always restore a previous backup onto a device with a newer iOS version, but not vice-versa.
