Having trouble plugging my charger in

I just purchased the iPad Pro and it is all set up but now I need to charge it. When I try to put the end into the iPad, there is some resistance and there seems to be a piece of rubber there. Do I need to push harder, and is the rubber supposed to be there?

Re: Having trouble plugging my charger in

Welcome to iMore!

There should be minimal resistance and nothing should be inside the lightning port. Try using a wooden toothpick to remove what is in the port. Do not be aggressive when trying. If you can not remove it, make an appointment to have it looked at by a Genius at an Apple Store. There should definitely be nothing in the port.
