Have you ever been to an Apple Store?

I personally never been to one but plan on going on the 10th of April for obvious reasons

Is it really as cool as they say?

Buy all my Macs from the B&M stores. Someday I might special order something but the baseline usually meets my needs. The nice thing about going into the store is the guys (usually) know what they are talking about or are otherwise helpful. Mine's in a mall though. Oh boy the day they brought out that boxed Thunderbolt Display...shoulda asked them for help out to the car LOL

One thing I don't like, and maybe it is just mine. They are supposed to have a greeter (?) that directs people but mine almost never has one up there and inevitably I have to grab a guy (usually the wrong guy) to get the right "specialist" for whatever it is I need. I complained about it on the survey one time and the store manager called me up to apologize. I thought that was pretty cool of him so I kept coming back.

Chaotic would be a better descriptive term than "cool", though having all the newest Apple stuff there to play with is pretty neat. We have 4 Apple stores in the metro Atlanta area, and ALL of them are usually pretty busy on a normal day...during product launches, I try to stay as far away from Apple stores as possible if I can help it...which is why I usually do my shopping with Apple online now and have it shipped to me.

If you're going there on the watch launch, expect a chaotic mess.

Seems like no matter when I go it's always busy there. I like the way the stores are setup though so even if they're busy you'll have plenty of gadgets and accessories to look at. Launch day will be very hectic but if you have patience and don't mind large crowds go for it.

Just bought a refurb iPad Mini Retina a couple days ago and am having it sent to a store for pickup. First (well technically second if you count my 1st gen Nano I had a long time ago) Apple device and am looking forward to the store experience.

No; It's crowded and very noisy because sound bounces off those concrete floors and bare walls horribly. I can't be in them for more than is absolutely required.

I've been several times and now try to avoid the local store. The lines to get in are long and once allowed inside, the atmosphere is chaotic. It is very difficult to view the products displayed because of the number of people in the store. Not a pleasant shopping experience at all.

It's crazy to say the least. You're in for a world of frustration if you're going on the 10th to check out the watches. I avoid it as much as possible unless I need to go in and get something quick or have an in-store pickup for something that's already ready.

Yes, I've been to several Apple Stores in at least 2 States. They are great places to visit, hangout, shop and to get assistance. It reminds me of the Disney experience without the tourists...;)

I've been there for a release. To me it's something that's worth going to see at least once.

On a regular day I'm there at least once a month.

We have four that are within a very short drive and probably three more in the rest of Los Angeles. I've done the launch day queue once in London and it was good fun but I wouldn't do it again. I usually go to an Apple Store at least once a month to have a look and will definitely do so when the watches are available for viewing.

We're fortunate to have two stores in our area.

Overall I agree with the earlier assessments about the stores being chaotic, confusing to "navigate"/find the "right person", crowded, and to me stressful. Depending upon the season, they can also be quite hot with all of the BTU's from people and equipment. The heat is another variable that encourages me to get in/get out as quickly as possible. Whenever possible I try to go during off peak hours, but there seems to be less of those.

Balance the above out with the available support and ship to store options, I suppose its still a net positive option. I've not had a bad experience thus far. Just get in/out as fast as possible.

I love the Apple Store. Got 5 in the area. I only go if I'm buying. It hurts too much otherwise.

We have a few here in St. Louis that I stop into from time to time. I prefer the one in the Saint Louis Galleria due to it being much larger. Yesterday I was in the smaller location in our West County Mall and as soon as I walked in I could feel how cool is was temperature wise.

Mentioned to the associate I was working with how cool it was and he said that it gets so warm in there when it is loaded up with people (it was busy after all) that they have to keep it cooler to combat the temperature fluctuations.

Overall good experiences every time but one, and that was because the associate did not know you cannot to the Barclay financing on a business purchase. Long story there.

Fun, to me at least. Lots of people, lots of employees. (Despite popular belief, not all geniuses!) Every store I've been in, people working there are very nice and helpful. I usually only find myself in there to kill time and play with the toys
