Wow, odd thread. I wonder how I wound up here. The premise is pretty ridiculous, though. If you want a 'fashion statement' or a 'status symbol' for a phone, get a stupid Vertu. I've described my iPhone as a lot of things, like a pocket pc and handheld gaming console. The one thing I've never called it is 'fashion accessory'.

I happen to be one of the few people who chose the space grey phone over the gold one, simply because I had a white iPhone 5. If I had a black 5, I would've taken the gold 5S, simply because I would've wanted the white face plate. And yes, I had that choice.

Bottom line, it's stupid to call a phone which millions have a 'fashion statement', as if it's a Gucci bag (or whatever the latest trend is). If you want to show off, pull the sim tray out in front of random strangers and show them that you have a $749 phone. That will net you more shocked looks than a gold phone will.
