Since I unsubscribed from my initial membership in Apple Music, I can no longer continuously play any of "My Music" on iTunes. When I hit "shuffle," my devices just revert to playing each tune from the beginning. How can I free myself from this super annoying state of affairs without having to pay Apple to allow me to play my own stuff as I wish?

Welcome to iMore! You should be able to sync your device to iTunes on on your Mac or PC and it will load your own purchased music back on to your device.
