Has anyone noticed their Watch battery draining faster with watchOS 7?

I updated to is 7.0 on my series 5 and it’s certainly draining a lot faster than it did on the last is 6.x.

Has anyone else noticed?

Re: Watch OS 7 battery drain

I haven't experienced any battery drain. AOD off I have 60% +/- and AOD on I get 25% +/- left at end of day (18-19 hours of use) on all watchOS beta's and GM. I however have never used hand washing feature, tested it once but not for me.

My Watch battery life is about the same as it was prior to upgrading to watchOS 7.

To anyone with a series 4 or 5 Watch, can you adjust the brightness of the always on display?

Since the series 6 will have brighter AoD, I am almost certain that I’ll dim the brightness to save up more time and to not be distracted by the screen while driving with short sleeves.

In settings on the Apple Watch 5, you can go to Settings - Display and Brightness and adjust the brightness with a slider between two sun symbols.

I gather that’s the brightness of the screen when in use.
Is there a separate slider for AoD?

Thanks for your replies.
I guess I’ll figure it out once my S6 arrives.

I have the brightness set fairly high and AOD has been enabled from day one and I can easily go an entire day and still have about 45 - 50% battery life remaining when I go to bed.

Yes, but this is on an Watch series 4 or 5 I assume.
With the series 6 the AoD brightness is twice as bright with the same battery life.
My train of thought is, when I can set the AoD brightness to be as bright as a series 4/5, I can even get more battery life at the end of the day.

Took the watch off the charger yesterday morning at 8 am. Just put it on the charger after the alarm went off as I wear it to track sleep. Series 3 with LTE. 50% battery left.

My battery life is pretty much the same. Maybe a little better. (I did turn off hand washing right away - I don't need a device to tell me how to wash my hands.)

Mine is draining much faster as well. Before the update, I would hardly ever drop below 35% with my 16 hour days. Now 5 hours into my day, I'm sitting at 56%.

Hello and welcome to iMore! Battery drainage is not unexpected after the update. It should level off soon. Also, when you get a chance, please take a minute to introduce yourself here!
