As you can tell by the earlier posts in this forum, the jailbreak for iPhone is being handled by redsnOw. If you follow the directions, it should work out fine. I personally believe that greenpoison is a little bit more user friendly than redsnOw(less steps involved). That being said, i think that redsnOw should be good if you are a "computer person". I'm still learning about my Mac, and it's a work in progress.:)

I see that there is an update to RedsnOw. I have the rc9 version on my iPhone 3GS. I do have some issues with the signal bars. Can anyone give me a step by step on how to upgrade to the newer version? Thanks

If you're doing redsnow you have to upgrade the firmware on the phone first. You can't just upgrade the redsn0w software. So if you're unlocked then do not do it you'll need to upgrade via Pwnage tool or Sn0wbreeze. If you're not unlocked then hook up your phone and hit upgrade then once the firmware has been upgraded run the JB tool.
