Got A Call From Target. Hum...

I just received a voicemail from Target. The girl said that they haven't received the Apple confirmation for my phone yet. She'll have a conference call shortly and will definitely let me know something by 7PM tonight. It won't kill me to not get the phone tomorrow morning but... you guys know how it is. I might explore Plan B and C shortly.

Anyone else starting to feel less than confident about their pre-order?

hmm i ordered through the apple store and mine is already shipped and on its way for tomorrow delivery did target offer something that apple did not just curious as to ordering through the retailers instead of apple or carrier thats all?

I preordered from Best Buy last Friday and just received an email saying that my phone will be in the store for pick up tomorrow! I preordered from Best Buy because of the good things I have heard about their black tie insurance plan for phones.

One good reason to go to target is if you have a red card, get 5% off.

I went into my local Target and was the first to preorder there. Benefit was that i didn't have to be up at 3am to try online and they said they'd have them tomorrow.

I just went to two Walmarts, another Target and AT&T store. Nothing available. Most have the phones in the back ready for tomorrow. Those are all for preorders. I'm going to try a few more places and hope my origional Target doesn't let me down.

Beware the Best Buy insurance is not all that its cracked up to be. Although they say otherwise sometimes if you phone breaks they typically send it out first an wont give you a loaner. So you stuck without a phone for a bit. Just food for thought

Buy Back at Target

I used Target because the store I'm near does iPhone buy backs in store. Non of that mail it off and wait a week for an Apple Gift card crap. They apply the credit immediately against my iPhone 5 purchase.

Target called, they won't have their iPhones for the morning. I know stuff happens but still. I should have had a back-up plan the same day that I ordered this but I felt that it was good to go. So, after I eat, I'm going to my local Apple store. And if they will have stock, I'm not leaving! I'll have a chair, blanket, my teddy bear along with two iDevices to keep my company. When I put my mind to doing or getting something, I'll do what I have to so that it happens!

^ This. I've been through that BB Blacktie crap previously. Applecare + is way better. Unless you just like paying more and being out of a phone for 3-4 days while they ship your phone out for repair. With AppleCare + you walk in with your broken phone and walk out with a new one. No comparison really.

That sucks man. But not all that surprising. These retailers can't guarantee they will get inventory. Same thing happened with Best Buy last year.

Not my experience. I had an option of a feature phone loaner or pay $50 for a smart loaner.

I'm camped out at the Apple store in Providence. Number 3 in line. About 12 total and channel 6 is filming us now.
