Google maps/Apple Maps/Navigon, Bluetooth, & a Honda Accord (Handsfreelink)

I have a 2012 Honda Accord EX-L sedan. I can get Google Maps to give instructions using HandsFreeLink, but not Apple maps or Navigon. I'm not using the USB connection nor the AUX input (I want to listen to satellite radio while getting GPS directions). I have my phone paired via Bluetooth.

Does anyone know why Google maps works with Handsfreelink via Bluetooth, but not Apple maps or Navigon?
