Getting watch for Christmas-I have question on competitions like fitbit

Hello
Does apple watch have competition/challanges amongst users like fitbit? I will miss all my fit bit friends too , not sure if there is a way to still compete with them short of still wearing fitbit? Thank you!

There aren't really any competitions like that but you can/do get badges for yourself. There are options to sync your data to Fitbit (and vice versa), however I'm not sure if you can use those in competitions since they technically aren't from Fitbit data.

This is something that's been talked about from Fitbit users that switched to Apple Watch -- the need for a "social" aspect of the health/activity data.

You can't upload data from your watch to Fitbit (at least not that I've found a way to do it), but you can upload your phone steps. You need to have background refresh turned on for the Fitbit app. Then, go into the Fitbit app, Track Exercise, tap on the stopwatch icon (top right), tap on Walk, then tap on Add. Not real intuitive, but it works.
