Hi,

I have my old iPhone 5s where the screen stopped functioning (display is on but doesnt react to touch) and I have some content there, which I would like to move to my iPhone XS.

My first question is: What is the best way to get to the phone? Do I need to buy some wired lighting keyboard to unlock it?

And my second question is: How can I merge the content with my current iPhone. Meaning, that I would like to have all the pictures from the phone to be moved at the beggining of my current library (sort by date) and the same with messages and others. Basically, merge the conent with my current conent.

Thank you very much for any advice.

Find the cheapest repair shop with the cheapest off brand screen to have your screen replaced.
Make sure you can use the device before leaving the repair shop.
This shouldn’t cost you more than $30-$50. Or GBP or EURO. It’s all the same.

Then make sure your iCloud storage is 50GB or 200GB before enabling iCloud Photo Library.
This will upload the photos from your iPhone 5S to iCloud. Also enable iCloud Photo Library on your iPhone XS.
Once both devices are done uploading their photos and videos both iPhones will start downloading each other’s photos from iCloud.
Make sure to disable iCloud Photo Library on the iPhone 5S if you don’t want photos and videos from the iPhone XS on it.

Then enable Messages under iCloud on both iPhones and make sure the messages are getting synced both ways.

There are also other ways of merging content but this is the safest way.
