Forgive the n00b question

Hello all,
I tried searching my best, and I will admit I am not a keyword guru so I might have missed it. When I am following the steps on Jailbreak the iPhone, to locate the IPSW, the link in the file is a zip file not an IPSW and upon extracting it, there is no IPSW.

I just got the phone today it has 2.2.1 and no apps. I do not want to unlock it, just jailbreak it. I am on Windows Vista, am I screwing this up?

Which guide are you using?

The TiPb guide has a link for a working ISPW.

Yes sir that is the exact one, and the link translates into a zip file for some reason. which is weird because in the search for another link I DL'd another IPSW file but its not the right one its for jb'd iPhones already. Any Ideas?

Soorry all, it is IE 8 causing the translation to cause an IPSW to become a zip file. I used Firefox and it works fine.
