Mirroring and controlling your mobile device is where it's at. Look at Mazda's ACP. It's awful and the screen is all but unusable. Volkswagen believes we want old fashioned buttons and knobs instead of touch screens. Nonetheless this isn't good news for Apple.

To exclude CarPlay from its lineup is mind boggling to me. iPhone users prefer seamless integration with its Apple products and services. If I were in the market for a new car, it would NOT be a GM model because of this.

When I travel for work and grab a rental car at the destination - I always check to make sure the choice at least comes with AndroidAuto (I carry an Android and Apple phone - personal and work). I'm tending to use CarPlay more and more when I get a rental and if a car doesn't have it, I'll select another vehicle that does. Sorry GM... you're out of the running for purchases AND rentals with this.

It’s ludicrous to take away a feature consumers want, Gm sales will be gutted because of this.

….and rightfully so. I hope Google is paying them enough to cover the loss of CarPlay.

Don’t think google is paying them enough to cover their future loss. Ford is going to have an amazing year, might pick up some shares.
