I am posting this for you guys..just in case there are some nut cases on here just like myself, who have been ripping their hair out over failed push facebook notifications..and not accepting the fact that it is just a crappy facebook app. Hope this works for you guys .. as it has just worked for me...after 2 weeks all I did was:

Deactivate my facebook account and than reactivate it!!!!! (on PC)

Thats it...than just sign in onto your phone (because it will sign you out) and voila!

P.S

I only had the problem of failed facebook messages being pushed to phone...but I cant see why it doesnt fix notifications in general. Its WORTH a shot!
