Be careful with Amazon. Most of those cases posted aren't official or authentic cases. Check with Lifeproof if you have bought one on Amazon. Make sure it's real. They'll check the serial numbers.

If it's shipped and sold by Amazon, in which that one is, then it's real. You just have to worry about them when sold by somebody else on Amazon.

My first nuud case didn't work with Touch ID at all. They sent me a replacement case, but it only works half the time. I've had the worst experience with their customer service reps.

It's 100% real. It was sketchy at first because the price and it had no reviews at the time but I took the chance.

Will the fingerprint id on a 5s work if the phone is in a lifeproof or similar case? Not sure how it could.

I have the 5S version, Lifeproof Nuud. Has a very small film (watertight) over the Touch ID button. Works pretty good for the most part. I bought direct from LP. LP has an official store on Amazon.com so if you are going to go through Amazon, make sure you have the right store. LP refuses to cover any cases that arent through their authorized channel.

Picked up the 5s and the Lifeproof Fre , impressed on how good the case fits and how it doesn't interfere with the sensor.

Lifeproof Nuud, its a great case. Touch ID is spotty, with around a 65% positive ID success rate. The small air bubbles between the sensor and the cover are probably to blame. Slim profile for such a diverse case so it doesnt add bulk like the Otterbox with the same protection.
