Can I fast charge my Iphone with a normal usb-lightning cable with a fast charging adapter, or do I need to buy the adapter and the cable from the Apple store?

I would suggest using Apple authorized products when charging any Apple device.

I completely agree with this. It's better to protect your iPhone. Using unauthorized chargers can potentially cause damage to your device.

It amazes me how some people (in general) will vehemently complain about the high price of an iPhone, but don’t have any problems attaching a cheap charging cable to it and increasing the risk of it damaging the iPhone.
