Fan has started running continuously on my MacBookAir 3,2 which it has never done before.

Wondering if this is a sign something is wrong or I need to do something. Know my husband's MacBook fan started running a lot; he had battery problems and a host of other issues.

It means it sensed excess heat and needs to vent it... is it being used in such a way that there is opportunity for air to circulate around it unobstructed?
