Engadget Website Constantly Forces Safari to Crash

Jailbroken or not, 99.9% of the time when I load up engadget.com, safari crashes! Can anyone explain why this happens or possibly offer a solution? Thanks.

Try typing i.engadget.com, it's their iPhone mobile version. That should help avoid the crash. The desktop version has alot of flash and that may be y it's crashing on u

I've only crashed on their site a handful of times, and I visit it daily on my iPhone.

Sometimes I need the full website, the I.engadget site SUCKS horribly, and the app doesn't always update the comments for replies and such.

It would just be nice if their website didn't crash the most popular mobile browser.

It just crashed for me. Interesting. I will post each time it does. If you or anyone else can post when it does crash and what you were doing, we can develop a pattern and report it to Engadget.

I just went to the site myself. I click on comments but my browser did not crash. However, while the site was loading up, I was able to make and serve an eight course gourmet meal.......man that site could use some serious optimization.

For me it crashes once the main page finishes loading, and once any article page finishes loading.

Yeah, I just had it crash after I fully loaded up a story. BTW, I'm also jailbroken w/ 3.1.3 firmware.

Have you tried turning off javascript in the settings? I wonder if that would have a different result.

Also, I've noticed that the pinch to zoom is broken after click the back button. I have to reload every single time to get the page to scale properly again. I guess that's why they make an app.

Really? I've never seen pinch to zoom break before. The app is not really sufficient unfortunately. It'd be cool if their email notifications would link you to the exact comment inside the app instead of the browser, it would also be nice if they used more YouTube compatible videos so I wouldn't have to use Cloud Browse..

Ya, I also have problems with the engadget site crashing safari on my 3gs 3.1.2 jailbroken phone.
