Email transfered over 6,000 emails!

Just updated from a 4 to a 5c. All info was transferred over successfully but one of my e-mails shows I have 6,332 new!!! My 4 had no e-mails at all showing when I traded it in, now I'm told to manually erase them! I take it there is no Select All feature so I might trash them all? I keep my e mails on my desktop and only use the phone to check if something important comes in. My desktop is only showing about 100. Any suggestions?

How many unread on desktop? in Folders, etc?

Maybe 150 in that email address. I have only had it 3 years. I have marked them so they no longer show on my main page, but they are still there. Phone won't let me trash in mass

I have the same thing with my 5S - 23,000 emails - My carrier and Apple are unable to help - manual remove - not sure if I signed up for this : -(
